- Explain cost, application technique, maintenance requirements, features and benefits to client.
- Determine the best hair extension design and obtain client agreement to proceed with recommendations.
- Select hair extension type and colour.
- Prepare client’s natural hair.
- Maintain client and operator comfort and safety throughout service according to organisational procedures.
- Prepare client’s natural hair so that it is clean, dry and free of styling aids.
- Remove existing hair extensions as required, according to product instructions.
- Section client’s natural hair according to planned design.
- Apply hair extensions.
- Select strand sizes to match planned design.
- Select section sizes appropriate for strand size chosen.
- Apply strands and securely seal using bonding equipment, according to product instructions and planned design.
- Use safe degree of tension to avoid traction damage to hair and traction alopecia.
- Dispose of hair extension waste safely, according to organisational procedures.
- Complete hair design and review service.
- Cut and finish hair, as required, to blend extensions and natural hair, and to achieve planned finished design.
- Review service outcomes against client design expectations and confirm client satisfaction with result.
- Adjust finished design in response to any client concerns and own post service analysis of appearance.
- Advise on hair extension maintenance and recommend home care products.
